Welcome Alex
Hello, my name is Alex Agars and I’m thrilled to be joining Uraidla Primary School next
year as the Year 1 teacher. It feels wonderful to be returning to the school, as Uraidla is where I spent my very first day of teaching back in 2016, and where I also co-directed the OSHC program during my studies. I’ve also spent plenty of cold weekends on the netball courts representing Uraidla Demons since under 15’s.
After three years travelling around Australia on and off, and most recently Europe with my partner, I’m grateful to be settled again in the Adelaide Hills and reconnecting with this wonderful community.
Over the past few months, I’ve had the pleasure of doing relief teaching at Uraidla, which has reminded me just how special this school is.
I’m very much looking forward to getting to know the students, staff and wider school community, and I’m excited for this next chapter at Uraidla Primary School with you all.
Welcome Paige
My name is Paige Colwell! I am an experienced teacher with a passion for teaching
Science. I have two young children of my own, with a love of the outdoors, and it was for this reason that my husband and I relocated our family to the Adelaide Hills. Now living in Crafers West, I have deepened my love for gardening and spending time within our local community.
I am passionate about the use of outdoor spaces, natural materials and I adopt a practical approach to teaching Science. I am excited to work with the students at Uraidla Primary School next year.
We also welcome our new pastoral Care Worker Ruth Zweck, who has already joined us for the last foew weeks of the year. See the 'school news' section for an introduction to Ruth.
Welcome Leonie
Hi there Uraidla students, parents and community,
My name is Leonie Chatfield and I have been teaching a long time and really still love what I do. I spent the first half of my career teaching in Queensland and the second half here in the Adelaide Hills.
I have lived and worked in the Hills for the last 16 years. I actually started that time with contracts at Uraidla Primary School for three years and then became permanent at Littlehampton PS. Recently, I decided to give up my full-time permanent position and take on some years of part-time work.
I am very excited to have the opportunity to return to the beautiful Uraidla PS to help out and serve where I can.
I have taught all the year levels many times and love them all. My most recent 10 years, though, have been in the Years 1, 3/4 and 2/3.
Relationships, well-being and learning to be a learner are at the heart of my passion for teaching.
I look forward to meeting you all!

On the 13th of November our boys and girls SAPSASA tennis teams went to Millswood Tennis World for a knockout carnival. The boys team was made up of - Louie, Ashton, Thomas and Ned and girls team had Layla, Ruby, Klara, and Maddi. It was a full day and both teams had to compete against Highgate, Burnside, and Westbourne Park Primary. Unfortunately, we did not progress through to the next round, but the girls came really close. Thank you Hayley Mounds and Matt Abslom for driving and supervising each team.
Congratulations to Ruby and Layla who were selected to represent the Hills District in tennis. They were both very successful were very successful, coming second in their division, only losing by 1 countback point!
