Over the past three years, our Always was, Always will be book has grown from an idea into a reconciliation project. What began in 2022 has continued to evolve through the dedication of our student action team and teachers.

Last Thursday, we proudly premièred the completed book, celebrating the collective effort, truth-telling and creativity that brought it to life. This publication reflects our ongoing journey of learning about First Nations cultures, histories and perspectives, and the important work of walking together with respect.

A physical copy of the book will be available in our school library from 2026, and we will continue sharing excerpts and student contributions throughout the next year.

Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Update

We have submitted our updated Narragunnawali RAP Action Plan. Our submission highlights the many ways First Nations perspectives have been meaningfully embedded into units of inquiry across the school, with year levels contributing examples of classroom learning, community connections and curriculum actions. Thank you to all staff who supported this important reflection and next-step planning.

Year 5s Learning About Country

This term, our Year 5 students explored the 6 Layers of Country, deepening their understanding of how land, water, sky, wind, stars and stories of place are interconnected. Their learning supports our whole-school commitment to strengthening our awareness of Wurundjeri Woiwurrung Country and the living knowledge held by First Nations peoples.

Art Show: Wurundjeri 7 Seasons

At last week’s Art Show (10 - 12 December), a Wurundjeri 7 Seasons mosaic collage was exhibited, and we look forward to seeing it installed in our school space.

Together, these moments reflect a year of learning, reflection and action, and a shared commitment to continue deepening our understanding of Country and reconciliation.
