PYP In Action

By Junior Team

The Juniors have been inquiring into the following:

Transdisciplinary Theme: Who We Are

Central Idea: Traditional children’s games are played in all cultures and can help us develop skills.

The junior students have been exploring a range of traditional games to understand their origins and purpose. They have compared games from different cultures, identifying how they can be both similar and unique. Through playing and analysing these games, students have learned how different movements and actions help develop physical skills such as coordination, balance, and teamwork. They have also reflected on how games build social skills by encouraging cooperation, communication, and fair play. As a summative assessment, they designed and created their own game to teach and share with others.
