Year 4 Camp

By Ava D and Elly McC (B4)

On May the 28th, Year Fours went to Camp Wyuna. The Year Fours headed onto the bus, ready for a two hour drive! When we arrived, we were greeted by the camp staff Ash and Bridie. Then we got told which cabin we were in. There was Buckley's Lodge, Port Phillip Bay Lodge and Lady Nelson Lodge. Years Fours then headed on a big walk to the Marine Discovery Centre. B1 and B2 started in the touch tank area, while B4 and B5 explored a room with animal sculptures. We swapped over and in the touch tank area we could touch sea urchins, shrimps and more! We then headed back to camp and got into our activity groups. They were Whales, Stingrays and Dolphins. We got started on our activities. There was archery, pizza making and Bonitos Pirate Challenge. For dinner we had yummy pasta and chocolate mousse. Then we enjoyed Miss Hannah's trivia night! The next morning, we had our breakfast and headed to the boats. Miss Hannah had a speaker for our walk and Mr Bartok lead our walking dance party! B1 and B2 went on the boat first, while B4 and B5 went to the Queenscliff Tower and the beach. We then swapped over and headed onto the boat. On our ride, we pulled up fish and seaweed from the marina and even got to taste some seaweed! After the boat, we made our way back to camp and had some more activities. For dinner that night we had chicken drumsticks and ice-cream and finished with a movie 'Lilo and Stitch'. The next morning, we went to the Queenscliff Fort and learnt about Queenscliff's history. We saw a black light house, the only one in the Southern Hemisphere. We then headed to the park for lunch, which was yummy burgers! Sadly, we had to go home. We said goodbye to the staff and left. We got back to Miners Rest at about 2:40pm. We had an excellent time on camp!
