Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.

May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

Welcome back

I hope that all our families enjoyed the long weekend and managed to stay warm and relaxed during the wintry blast we received. Winter has certainly arrived, and beanies and coats are out in force. Our beautiful school beanies are still available and for sale in the Administration Office.

School Council

We are very excited to welcome our Junior School Council representatives to School Council next Monday June 16. The meeting will commence at 6:00pm and will include dinner for all in attendance. The students have committed lots of time to ensure a high level of preparation for their important meeting and our Schoool Councillors are very much looking forward to meeting with them next week.

Celebrating our Education Support Staff

Last week, we proudly shone the spotlight on a group of people who are truly the heart of our school community - our incredible Educational Support Staff. This amazing team includes our classroom-based staff, integration support, administration staff, maintenance team, IT crew and kindergarten co-educators.

Each and every day, they present with care, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the learning and wellbeing of our students and our teaching and leadership teams. Whether it's working one-to-one with a child, supporting classroom learning, monitoring in the yard, attending camps, or helping things run smoothly behind the scenes, their impact is profound and far-reaching.

Their selflessness, dedication, and quiet strength often go unheralded, but not last week.

The staffroom was full of cards from classes and individual students recognising the significant impact this special group of people have on us all every day.

Ramp Works

Thank you to our families, students and staff for their patience as our ramp works slowly progress. We have had to manage playground closures and classroom relocation to allow the continuation of the works. We are hoping to have the build completed to start next term.

Last Assembly

Our final assembly for the term will be held on Friday July 4 at 9:00 am. All families are welcome to join us to finish the term together.

Our next assembly is Friday, June 20 - see you there!

Enjoy the rest of the week,

Kylie Nissen.
