Grade 5 getting putting the finishing touches on their crazy glasses

As we head into the final weeks of Term 2, we reflect on the numerous initiatives at play at BBPS for the second half of the term. Check out Leadership@BBPS for reports about our Grade 5 and 6 Leadership programs.

Congratulations to all students for their thoughtful participation in our annual Three Way Conferences. These conferences are an important opportunity for students to take ownership of their learning, reflect on their progress, and set goals for the term ahead. It was wonderful to see so many confident, articulate learners proudly sharing their work. Thank you for the fantastic feedback we have received about the event. As is usual process, if you would like an opportunity to speak 1:1 with your class teacher, please go ahead and request a meeting at your mutual convenience.

Lost property is located outside the Library. Please check it carefully for your child's items, and ensure these are labelled clearly. Any uncollected items at the end of the term will be re-purposed.

Our 2024 Annual Report has been shared and endorsed by School Council. This report offers a snapshot of our school’s performance across key areas, including student achievement, engagement, and wellbeing. We are proud of the growth demonstrated across our school, particularly in our students’ sense of connectedness and agency, and thank our staff and families for their ongoing contributions to our shared success. Our 2024 Annual Report can be found on the school website page

As part of our school’s curriculum planning, we are currently reviewing our Languages Other Than English (LOTE) program and invite all families to participate in a short survey. The Victorian Department of Education requires all government primary schools to offer a LOTE program from Foundation to Year 6. At BBPS, we are committed to providing a high-quality, engaging language learning experience that supports intercultural understanding and global citizenship. Students will engage with an explicit online learning Japanese program in semester two. Your feedback will be used to help shape future directions for language learning at our school.

Our school conducts regular emergency management drills, including evacuation and lockdown procedures, to ensure the safety and preparedness of our students and staff. Teachers prepare students beforehand to ensure they understand the process and feel safe and supported during the drill. Well done to our students, who this week practiced an onsite evacuation to Windermere Oval.
