Principal Post

Dear Families,
We hope that you all made the most of and enjoyed the long weekend with family and friends. Perhaps we will be coming back into more consistently wet and cold weather. It is the first time this year that we have had some sustained rain; certainly well needed across parts of Victoria.
SJV to be Featured in Catholic Education Video Project
We’re excited to share that SJV has been selected by the Melbourne Archdiocese of Catholic Schools to feature in a professional video highlighting exemplary teaching practices. A videographer will film a classroom lesson in Foundation L and 3/4W to showcase our innovative approaches and positive learning environment.
The video will appear on the Flourishing Learners YouTube channel and be used in professional learning for Catholic educators. While student names won’t be included, some faces may be visible. We’re proud to contribute to this initiative and celebrate the great work happening at our school. Filming will take place on Monday 16th June.

How good is Kindness
Please remind your child of the importance of being kind and empathic in word and action. Having regular conversations with your child helps educate him/her about this important character trait.
World Day Against Child Labour
Tomorrow around the world commemorates the World Day Against Child Labour.
Perhaps across the week, we pray for children everywhere, that through the work of governments, schools and agencies that children will be free from exploitation and kept safe.
Pentecost
Last Sunday in the Catholic tradition we celebrated the Feast of Pentecost. Last Friday in our whole school Mass, our 5-6 A class prompted us to be aware of and use our gifts.
Thank you to them for their beautiful Reflection. May we continue to pray for a deep encounter with the Holy Spirit, that the Holy Spirit will be poured into our hearts, bringing life, hope and peace such that we can use our gifts to transform the world.
We pray for the many peoples who dwell on our earth that through our rich diversity we will all speak the one divine language of love.
We are reminded of this Love on the Feast of the Holy Trinity which will celebrate this Sunday. This Friday 3-4B will host our whole school Mass with the theme of the Holy Trinity.
