We are nearly halfway through term two! Where has the time gone? 

Mother’s Day Morning Tea

Our annual Mother’s Day Morning Tea was a wonderful celebration of the incredible mothers, grandmothers, and caregivers in our community. The event was well attended and filled with warmth, laughter, and gratitude. It was amazing to see so many families enjoying the morning together. Students were able to eat morning tea with their special person and enjoy being together in our space. Our students showed our school values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility in such a positive way, it was a joy to have you all in to experience this with us. A big thank you to our staff who helped organise the event and make it such a memorable occasion.

District Cross Country Running

Following our school event, selected students represented our school at the District Cross Country at Lake Hamilton, and we could not be prouder of their efforts. Competing against students from other schools, our team showed determination, endurance, and excellent behaviour. A big congratulations to Janette Shrubb-Lynch who qualified for districts and travelled down to Warrnambool. She placed 36th from 56 runners. Thank you to our Sports specialist Mr. Barker who has been assisting the students to train for this event.

ISS Coaching

The leadership team have begun working through the alignment review undertaken by the review team last term. Coaches, Clare Monk will be working with the Acting Prin with Michelle Norton working with the leadership team, Learning Specialist and Leading Teacher. This team will assist the leadership team to review and renew school practices to ensure high quality teaching, learning and student wellbeing are at the forefront. 

Moderation

Teachers have begun working on moderating student achievement across a range of subjects in preparation for school reports. This is so all teachers can present student current learning based upon agreed progression, rather than individual teacher judgment. This team approach ensures consistency in our teaching practices. We will be commencing our report writing in the coming weeks.
