Sustainability - Ms Belinda

Problem solving reducing our paper usage!

Ms Belinda: “How could we cut down on paper use in our classrooms?”

Students: “Can we make recycled paper trays, so everyone can use scrap paper when they can and reuse paper on both sides!”

Ms Belinda: “Sure!”

So, our Junior students have been doing a fabulous job creating paper trays for every classroom. Don’t they look great! We look forward to delivering them to all classrooms soon!

CERES Excursion - Victorian School Champions Program Ideas Exchange!Introducing… “The Trinity Trash Transformers!”

Today six of our Year 5 students went to CERES Environment Park with Ms Belinda, to take part in the Vic School Champions Program Ideas Exchange. The aim was to discover how we could take action for the environment while raising funds to support Trinity’s sustainability dreams.

Students are excited to bring the Container Deposit Scheme to Trinity. We are starting by asking you to collect cans, bottles and fruit boxes which have the 10 cent deposit mark on them. Please keep these at home until next Thursday - when we will have boxes for each classroom.

One of the best things about the day was the rare opportunity toshare ideas and and be inspired by other students from a diverse range of backgrounds, who are passionate about making a difference.

A big highlight was the amazing playground, made from 92 percent recycled materials! The other 8 percent was the screws!

Stay tuned for more details about the Trinity Trash Transformers program!

Compost Ninjas

Well done to our Compost Ninja team who collect our food scraps every day and feed them to the worms. By doing this, we save so much waste from going to landfill, helping to reduce methane gas, and therefore global warming. It is so good to know we are doing such a good job of saving our food scraps and turning them into great compost for our gardens!

Can you help water our garden?

Our gardens near the library and MPR would love more water if any families are able to help. Even a few drink bottles after school would be super helpful!

Have a great week everyone! Thanks for your great efforts in helping us live in a way that is kinder to our environment!
