Maths in Action Across the School
Mathematics has been buzzing in classrooms across the school, with students engaging in exciting and meaningful learning, tailored to their year levels.
In Year 1/2, students have been exploring patterns, from repeating shape arrangements to number patterns. They have been learning to identify, describe, and create their own, as well as, completing patterns helping them build foundational thinking skills that support problem-solving and logical reasoning.
Meanwhile, our Year 5/6 students have been diving into the world of probability. They’ve been learning how to predict the likelihood of outcomes, using language like "certain," "likely," "unlikely," and "impossible." Through games, experiments, and real-world examples, students are developing a deeper understanding of chance, as well as the mathematical reasoning behind predictions.
It’s been fantastic to see our students thinking critically, working collaboratively, and most importantly, enjoying their Maths learning. We’re proud of the progress being made across all year levels as students continue to build confidence and curiosity in numeracy.
