The SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY

On Sunday, we celebrate the Feast of the SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY.

A solemnity is the highest rank of feast day in the Catholic Church. It means it’s a very special, sacred celebration.

The concept of the Trinity is a difficult one to understand, especially for children.

The Feast of the Most Holy Trinity celebrates a great mystery of the Catholic faith:

God is One, but also Three Persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • God the Father created the world and loves us.
  • God the Son, Jesus, came to teach us about God’s love and save us.
  • God the Holy Spirit lives in our hearts, guiding and helping us.

They are not three gods, but one God in three Persons. Like a clover with three leaves or water as liquid, ice, and steam — three-in-one. We celebrate this feast to thank God for the endless love shared with us.

Our school has a special bond with the Trinity and together with St Ignatius' & St James' feast days, we consider this a very special celebration in our calendar. We will celebrate the Solemnity of the most Holy Trinity on Tuesday at 10am with Father Trung SJ PP in the St James church.  All are welcome.

Kinds Regards,
