NSW Netball Schools Cup Success

Our students recently competed in the NSW Netball Schools Cup and delivered outstanding performances.

Our Year 6 team took to the court with determination and teamwork, winning all of their games on the day. Their impressive efforts have earned them a place in the Regional Finals, which will be held in September. Congratulations to the whole team—we can’t wait to see how you go in the next round!

Our Year 8 team played on Tuesday 27 May and also had a fantastic day, winning four out of their five matches. Although they narrowly missed out on progressing further, the team showcased incredible skill, sportsmanship, and spirit throughout the competition.

Well done to both teams on their achievements and for representing Kambala with pride!

Soccer

The last day of Autumn was the perfect setting for the Kambala first soccer game against Tara at E.S. Marks Field.

Supporters from both sides were shown a great exhibition of skill team play and resilience with both teams having plenty of opportunities.

In mild conditions and a dewy surface, the opposition scored  consecutive goals to go up 2-0 at half time in a challenging first half for the Kambala team.

Kambala picked up their game in the second stanza to put on some end  to end plays to bring  the score back to 2 all with 5 minutes to go. Another set of great passes and team play saw striker Carla Robertson put the finishing touches and put the ball in the back of the net to seal a great victory.

Supporters from both sides were given a masterclass display of skill, team play and resilience by the Kambala firsts in what was a fantastic turnaround after being behind most of the game.

It was redemption from last week's final second goal by the opposition that saw  the Kambala firsts draw their match.

Indigenous Round

This past week, all Junior School Kambala teams proudly took part in Indigenous Round, held in alignment with National Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week. This important time invites all Australians to reflect on our shared histories, celebrate Indigenous cultures and achievements, and consider how we can each contribute to reconciliation. To mark the occasion, each game began with an Acknowledgement of Country, and our Year 3 students wore Indigenous-coloured ribbons in recognition of the event.
