Maths

English is Good, but Maths is Even Gooder

by someone who knows what a denominator is, and isn’t afraid to use it

English is good,

you read and you write,

you learn how to argue,

and punctuate right.

But Maths oh Maths!

is cleaner, neater,

a world of pure logic,

a real number-beater.

You’re never asked

what the number implied.

It just equals 5.

There’s no meaning to hide.

You see, in Maths,

there are steps to obey:

2 + 2 makes 4

and not "whatever you say."

No awkward exceptions like

“i before e”

(but not in weird,

or their, or deity).

Need help with your graphs?

Can’t simplify powers?

Homework Club is Monday

stay after school, for hours and hours!

And Year 9 GRIN

(yes, it’s early, we know)

meets Thursday at 8:15

come in, and you’ll grow.

So while English is good,

Maths is gooder still

(I know I broke a grammar rule,

but look, it rhymes… chill)
