MGCPA Calendar
Tuesday 10th June PA meeting at 6:30pm in School Staff Room
Mother’s Day Breakfast
Our PA organised a delightful Mother’s Day breakfast for mothers, daughters, and caregivers at the Gillard Centre on Friday 2nd May. To accommodate everyone, the event was held a week early, allowing participants to enjoy various celebrations throughout the next few weeks. Attendees indulged in a delightful array of baked treats from Three Birds Bakery, including bagels, cupcakes, croissants, donuts, and yogurt pots, all paired with juice or hot beverages. We extend our gratitude to Rachel Robertson for warmly welcoming our guests on behalf of the school and a special thank you to our PA members Sue and Toni for organising this lovely event, along with their daughters Isabella and Ivy and their husbands for their invaluable help with the setup and support throughout the morning.
Staff Thank You lunch
The Staff Thank You morning tea took place on Tuesday 6th May, organised by a dedicated group of PA members with the generous support of our school families. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed delicious homemade treats and other goodies to show appreciation for our MGC staff's hard work. The PA is truly thankful for your contributions, and the staff were deeply touched by the wonderful food provided. A special thanks goes to those who helped coordinate the event, particularly our PA members Julie, Alison, Sue, and the 2 amazing Year 7 mums who lent a hand.
MGC Year Level Coffee Mornings
The Parent Association Year Level Ambassadors are planning to schedule more coffee mornings in Term 2. Additionally, a Year 7 Social Night is being organised, so be sure to check Compass for updates and details.
How to contribute to the Parents’ Association and support our Grants Scheme
The generous financial contributions from families through fundraising and school support empower the Parents’ Association to provide teaching staff and student groups with opportunities for additional funding. These grants are essential for programs and equipment that would otherwise be difficult to implement or acquire. Recent funding has supported initiatives such as waste reduction equipment for the environmental team, orienteering equipment, Model UN General Assembly for the Humanities department, a bass flute for the music program, and digital SLR cameras for Media department. A list of all the grants provided for 2025 are listed below. The MGC PA Grants Committee is excited to invite funding requests from both MGC Staff and students this term!
Applications can be submitted for various initiatives, including programs, guest speakers, equipment purchases, student conference attendance, or events. We encourage staff and students to seek funding for projects that will enhance the experience of students at MGC. If you have an idea you'd like to discuss before submitting a full application, feel free to contact a PA member or reach out to the Grants Committee at mgcparents@gmail.com. We look forward to seeing your innovative proposals that can make a positive impact on our community!
To continue supporting the vital work of the Parents’ Association and the Annual Grants Scheme, please indicate your contribution through the Lead and Achieve tick box on your 2026 financial contributions. The MGC Parents’ Association plays a crucial role in enhancing our students’ educational experiences by fostering community connections and providing necessary assistance. We sincerely appreciate your ongoing support and contributions.
