Library News

Hello Chatswood Community,
We hope this message finds you well!
This week, we are excited to share some wonderful news regarding our Book Club program. As many of you know, we have been running Book Club at our school for over ten years. This initiative, supported by one of Australia’s largest children’s fiction publishers, provides our students with access to a diverse range of books, encouraging a love for reading. Importantly, for every purchase made through Book Club, 15% of the proceeds come back to our school. This funding allows us to expand our library collection.
Mr Matthews is pleased to announce that our efforts have resulted in a 25% increase in revenue for the school this year. This means we now have over one thousand dollars in credit to enhance our library resources. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the families who have participated in Book Club. Your support is invaluable, and we hope this positive trend continues. Mr Matthews is currently preparing an order for new books, and the next issue of Book Club will be distributed next term.
State Library Program: ATLAS
As mentioned last week, Mr. Matthews highlighted the fantastic youth program offered by the State Library called ATLAS. This program includes a variety of free opportunities for young artists, enthusiastic readers, and aspiring authors. Here are some of the offerings:
- Art Club: Perfect for primary school-aged artists.
- Book Lovers Club: A community for passionate young readers.
- Young Writers Club: An inspiring space for sharing ideas and exploring writing.

That concludes our updates from the library team for this week. Until next time, keep encouraging your children to read!
Warm regards,
The Library Team
