ALIA National Simultaneous Storytime

Last Wednesday, our school proudly participated in National Simultaneous Storytime, joining thousands of students across Australia in celebrating the joy of reading. A special thank you to Mrs Kelly, our star storyteller, for bringing The Truck Cat to life with such warmth and expression. Big thanks also to Mr Trethan for your amazing creativity drawing Tinka the cat and Mrs Hayes for your teamwork helping to add an interactive playground hunt for Tinka, which had students enthusiastically exploring and engaging with the story in a fun, hands-on way. Meanwhile, our library display built engagement and curiosity by bringing books to life through interactive elements that invited students to stop, explore, and make connections. It was a wonderful celebration of books, imagination, and community.

Snap that Story Prep - Year 3 Photo Competition Winners

Prep to Year 3 winners of the library’s Snap That Story photo competition were announced during National Simultaneous Storytime. We were blown away by the imagination and creativity of our students as they celebrated the joy of reading through photos. The judges had a tough time choosing just one winner per year level, every entry was outstanding.

A heartfelt thank you to our school community for getting involved. Our competition aims to foster and promote a love of reading by encouraging students to engage with books in fun, visual, and meaningful way.

If you haven’t yet popped in to see the display, families are warmly invited to visit the library before school from 8:30am to view all the wonderful entries.

Year 4 to Year 6 students—your turn is coming! The anticipation is building, and winners will be announced at the next upper school assembly in Week 6!

Welcome to our Book Fair! Come explore a world of stories and support our school library; there's something for every reader.

Book fair is open now in our library. Monday to Friday from 8:00-8:30am and 3:00-3:30pm.
