Principal's Message
Term 2 Week 6 26 May, 2025
!Hi Everyone,
It is the Book Fair this week and so I am pretty sure you parents and caregivers are being persuaded to buy your children some more books!! If you are going to buy your children anything, books seem like an outstanding option! :) Many thanks to our librarians Mrs Annika Sauvage and Ms Cath Roche, as well as our library monitor team, for organising and running our Book Fair.
Still on the topic of books, our National Simultaneous Storytime ‘The Truck Cat’ was a big hit! Thank you again to Mrs Sauvage for organising this wonderful morning and congratulations to all of our winners of the ‘Snap That Photo’ competition; I loved the creativity!
Today our Preps got to enjoy a Rainforest Puppet Show! Thank you to the Prep teachers for organising this opportunity to enhance what our Preps are learning.
Congratulations to all of our Merit Award recipients from Prep-3, you should be proud of yourselves.
Wasn’t the Year 1 Choir just amazing on last week’s assembly? I really thought they were such high-quality performances and so entertaining, thank you to them and Mrs Marianne Huxley. This week we have a whole school STAR assembly, and our entertainment will be the Senior Strings, and I can’t wait!
Thank you to our Peer Mediator representatives who spoke on assembly; they did a great job and were speaking about a wonderful initiative where they will be running games at lunchtime in week 7! Thank you Peer Mediators!!
Coming up this week:
· Book Fair - today until Friday 30th May
· P&C Meeting - 6:30pm Tuesday 27th May in the staff room
· Year 6 Debating Team Auditions - Wednesday 28th May at 3pm
· Choral Fanfare - Thursday 29th May
· Whole School STAR Assembly - Friday 30th May at 9:15am
· Religious Instruction - Friday 30th May
· Interschool Sport - Friday 30th May
Please do not forget our P&C Meeting tomorrow night at 6:30pm in the staff room. Being part of the P&C is a great way to be a part of your child’s education, to meet new, wonderful people and be part of a community.
It is the next round of debating auditions on Wednesday and this time it is year 6 - speak your heart out kids!
It has arrived, Choral Fanfare is this Thursday! I cannot wait to see how our choirs go! :)
I will end with some sad staff news. Ms Dannielle Faithfull is taking some extended leave for the remainder of 2025. Ms Faithfull is one of our wonderful Year 4 teachers and will very much be missed. Thank you for everything Ms Faithfull and enjoy your leave! Mr Bruce Vayo and Ms Charnelle Cronje will be teaching Ms Faithfull’s class for the remainder of 2025. Big thank you and welcome to them!
Have a safe and wonderful week.
Yours in Education,
Angie Kelly
