Curiosity ELC

Green Team’s Big Playground Milestone!

The Green Team have taken their first exciting steps into the big playground – and what a joy it’s been!

After three adventurous visits, our youngest learners are already showing growing confidence, curiosity, and connection through outdoor play.

Outdoor learning is an essential part of early childhood development. It builds physical coordination, improves problem-solving, and encourages imagination and resilience.

Our educators intentionally design these experiences to reflect the principles of Early Childhood Australia and the Early Years Learning Framework, which emphasise belonging, being, and becoming. In the playground, children explore freely, build relationships, take considered risks, and deepen their sense of self and the world around them.

Play is more than just fun – it’s the foundation for lifelong learning. We’re so proud of the Green Team and how they’re embracing new challenges, making discoveries, and learning through play – all with big smiles.

Notices

Week 5 is National Reconciliation Week. On Monday 26 May, which is National Sorry Day, children are invited to wear a splash of purple with their uniform, or a purple t-shirt.

Purple is the colour of the day, represented by the Native Hibiscus.

Please note that we will not be attending Library on Monday or Tuesday morning in Week 5. Instead, we’re excited to welcome the Foundation children to Curiosity on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings for some special shared learning experiences focused on Aboriginal Culture and People. Children are welcome to keep their current library books for an additional week. We’ll return to our regular Library visits in Week 6.

ELC Closure Days for staff retreat and training will be on Thursday 3rd July and Friday 4th July (Week 1 of the school holidays). Thank you for making alternative arrangements for care on these days. It is a highly valuable time for staff to be refreshed and learn, which directly benefits your children.
