Reconciliation Week
Next week is National Reconciliation Week, a significant time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving true reconciliation in our community.
Monday is National Sorry Day (26th May)
Foundation - Stage 3 Students and staff are invited to wear purple, or their school uniform. Wearing purple honours the Native Hibiscus Flower, symbolising the strength and resilience of Stolen Generations survivors. This flower's ability to thrive in harsh conditions makes purple a symbol of compassion and healing in this context. Please note, there is no fundraising component connected to wearing purple.
We look forward to this important week of learning and reflection as we move forward together toward reconciliation.
Stage 1 At Home Reading Program
Led by our Teaching and Learning Leader, Mr Jared Grierson, our Stage 1 At Home Reading Program is an important part of how we support early readers as they develop confidence and fluency. To help families understand how to best support reading at home, we will be running our last short information session tomorrow morning - we encourage Stage 1 families to attend.
Where: In the Billabong (room next to Tirkanthi library)
Date: Friday 23rd May (tomorrow)
Time: 8.45am-9.15am (after drop off)
We hope to see you there!
