Jesus – The Life of the Party
Have you ever been to a party that felt... flat? No music, limp balloons, and costumes slumped in the corner? That’s exactly how the Stage 4 Teachers felt in Worship on Wednesday. The party was over—or so it seemed. Everyone was trying to bring the fun back with games, glitter, and even a whoopee cushion (which, sadly, only made things worse!). But no matter what they tried, nothing could lift the mood.
Then something surprising happened - Mrs Kokot and Mrs Roennfeldt found a Bible buried in the bottom of the party trolley. As it was opened, something began to shift. The air felt lighter, the room brighter. It wasn’t because of special effects or flashy decorations - although they may have helped. It was because they had rediscovered the source of true joy: Jesus.
This reminded us that we often look to things like music, games, or treats to bring us happiness. But those things don’t last. Real, lasting joy doesn’t come from what we do or what we have - it comes from who we know. And when we know Jesus, every moment, even the ordinary or disappointing ones, can become a celebration.
In John 4:23–24, Jesus tells us that “true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth.” This means that God isn’t just looking for loud praise or perfect parties - He’s looking for hearts that are honest, joyful, and full of love for Him. That’s the kind of joy Jesus brings - joy that fills us from the inside out. When we remember that Jesus is the Life of the Party, it changes everything. He turns sadness into celebration, emptiness into purpose, and ordinary days into something extraordinary. He invites us to live with joy - not just on special occasions, but every day.
So this week, let’s celebrate! Not because of cupcakes or confetti, but because Jesus is with us. And where Jesus is, joy follows.
