New Pope

As you may know, our past Pope (Pope Francis) sadly passed away on Easter Monday. The good news is the cardinals have elected a new pope and his name is Pope Leo: the first pope from the US (Chicago, Illinois). Leo was chosen as the new leader of the Catholic Church earlier this month and a two-day conclave was held in Vatican City. The new Pope hosted his first Mass in the Sistine Chapel on the 9th of May, soon after his election by the cardinals in the Conclave.

Stations of Light

Jesus came back from the dead to save us and our school has made a Stations of the Light display to celebrate that. Each class made a display for each of the events that happened after Jesus’ resurrection until the descending of the Holy Spirit. As an example, 6F did Station 11, ‘Jesus sends his disciples into the world” and 6L did Station 9, ‘The risen Lord strengthens the faith of Thomas’. During the week, each class came to view the stations. It was a great experience and they all looked amazing.

Being Leaders

The both of us have loved having our role as Liturgy Leaders. Every Friday we lead the school prayer during assembly and we also do a lot to help out during School Masses as well. We have also represented our school by holding the school banner during the St Patrick’s Day mass held at St Patrick’s Cathedral. Overall, we love our role and we love what opportunities come with it!
