Foundation

Literacy 

Over the past few weeks we have been learning about the letters m,s,f and a. When learning about these we have been focusing on the sound it makes and linking this to initial sounds in words. We have also been explicitly teaching how to write these letters with the correct formation and building upon our fine motor skills. As we learn more letters and sounds we will start using these to put words together to read and write them! 

Homework bags are also being sent home. They currently have picture story books that your child picked from the library to share with you. Please read these with your child, talking about what happened within the text, who the characters were and the sequence of events within the story. Students will also have an activity to do each week that is based around the letter that we are learning about at school. Homework bags will need be returned on Fridays.

Numeracy

In Numeracy, we are currently exploring patterns with students working on making, copying and extending patterns that involve colour, shape and even animals. Students have been exploring how a pattern repeats itself and have been finding patterns within the environment. 

School Values Certificates/Assembly

Congratulations to Atif S and Amir A or receiving their first school values certificates for Learning Together. Well Done! Students will receive their certificate at our school assembly on Friday. Parents are welcome to attend.
