This week in the Resilience Project, the Year 1 students spoke about Emotional Literacy and the emotions they were feeling at the beginning of the school year.
Working on our emotional literacy skills provides us with opportunities to enhance our understanding and expression of various emotions. As we improve our emotional literacy skills, we can better recognise our own feelings and enhance our ability to manage them. This equips us to navigate diverse experiences, including handling conflicts, forming friendships, coping with challenging circumstances, and maintaining resilience when faced with change.
During their TRP lesson, students discussed how change is a part of life, and how it is normal to experience various emotions, especially during transitions. Students explored their feelings and discussed how new beginnings can be exciting, but also worrying too. They identified what was safe and comforting about last year and how they are feeling about this year.
Here is some wonderful work from our Year 1A students!
