ART CREATIVE PRACTICE EXCURSION

On Monday 28 April, Year 11 and Year 12 Art Creative Practice students went on an excursion to TOP ARTS 2025 at NGV’s Ian Potter Centre. This involved viewing the amazing artworks selected for this year’s exhibition and looking through the detailed folios behind them.

TOP ARTS is an annual NGV exhibition and part of the VCAA Season of Excellence. The exhibition showcases selected exceptional artworks completed by VCE Art Creative Practice and Art Making and Exhibiting students from the previous year. This year, the artworks were no less than extraordinary with examples from photography, painting, drawing, sculpture and many other artistic disciplines.

We had the chance to view these artworks along with their folios, highlighting the body of work and process that students went through to create them. This valuable experience provided inspiration and learning for our creative process throughout the year and helped the Years 11 and 12 Art Creative Practice students with our folios.

After viewing top arts, we went to see the Wurrda Marra exhibition which was also at the NGV. This exhibition showcased some amazing First Nations artworks, helping us discover how we can reveal the cultural lens within art pieces and throughout the creative process.
