Parent Association

PANCAKE TUESDAY – Tuesday 4 March
We will be celebrating Pancake Tuesday on Tuesday 4 March. An Operoo notice will be circulated next week. If you can assist on the day, we will start preparing from 8:30am in the school hall.
Also, if you have any lemons to donate, we would greatly appreciate them. Please drop them into the office.
If you are able to assist, all of our volunteers are required to hold a current Working With Children's Check and have signed the COHR Child Safety Code of Conduct.
CLASS REPS
Every class at COHR has two parent Class Representative positions. We are asking parents to please volunteer for roles. The Class Representative role is very important to our school community. It provides support to the teachers and acts as a liaison between teachers and parents in the school. A signup sheet is now in the office.
The role of Class Representatives:
- Be supportive of staff and the whole school ethos.
- Invite parents to include their contact details (ask parents their preferred form of communication) for communication of class messages and events, etc.
- Contact new families on arrival and personally welcome them to the school community
- To organise opportunities for the parents in your child's class to meet socially and help them get to know each other. Events might include family picnics or parents dinners.
- Class Representatives, and other class helpers, are respectful of everyone's privacy and ensures that the confidentiality of teachers, students and parents is maintained at all times.
HOT DOG DAY – Tuesday 25 February
A reminder to please return your forms and payment to the office by no later than Friday 21st February. If you did not receive a form, please see the office.

If you can help out pleae indicate on your return slip, or call the Office.
AGM
Thank you so much to the parents who joined us last night for our AGM. There was lots of great discussion and many great ideas that were floated amongst the group. It's important to note just how much goes on behind the scenes for the activities we run and to make these successful we rely heavily on the support of the COHR community. We would like to hold more meetings this year to make the Parent’s Association a more collaborative effort and keep you informed of the things that are happening in our space. We have lots of great things coming this year, and there are many ways (big and small) that you can get involved. More info will come out shortly on future meetings.
The below roles were confirmed last night:
President – Jess Brown (Jasper 3/4I & Juke Prep)
Vice President – Alicia Michael (Imogen 3/4I)
Secretary – Corrado Addessi (Matteo 3/4G)
Pastoral Care – Sonia Sammut (Alyssa 5/6G)
Money Coordinator – Kate Holdsworth (Flick 1/2B)
General Members – Donna Kristinoff (Oliver 3/4I & Evie 1/2B) – Sophie Jenkins (Eddie Prep)
MOTHER’S & FATHER’S DAY STALL
We are forming a sub-committee for our stalls this year and would love to invite anyone with a passion to shop to join. We’d really love to have members from across all classes so that the knowledge and experience can be shared and passed down to new and future members ensuring a more sustainable model for future stalls. This is a real highlight for the children and we would love to continue the tradition at COHR. Please reach out to Jess or Alicia if you’re interested in joining the sub-committee as planning will begin very soon.
Alicia and I have both personally run the stalls in the past and can attest that not only is it a lot of fun, but it is a great way to get involved in the community and be a part of something the children really enjoy.
