Do you collect anything?

Books, but that’s boring. I like trinkets, but that’s a boring answer as well, I like garbage—trash.

Do you play a musical instrument? If so, which one?

During COVID, I tried to learn how to play the ukulele. I got kind of good at it, so I thought I could play guitar, but turns out it’s a lot harder than the ukulele.

How long have you worked at BSC?

This is my third year, so I’ve been here for two years now.

How many languages do you speak?

Just one.

If you could choose to be anything for a day, what would it be?

I would like to be the phone of a very important person; you'd get to be in their pocket all day.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Sandwich! Ms Price stole my answer! You can put anything in a sandwich!

If you could visit anywhere in the world that you’ve never been, where would you go?

My dream holiday is Mexico, because I like tacos.

If you were a superhero, what powers would you have?

I would like to be able to freeze time because then I could sleep in a lot, and you’d never be late for anything.

Is there anyone who has influenced you as a teacher? In what way?

The reason I’m a teacher is that I loved my Year 12 Art teacher. I really enjoyed how he taught me, and I was also influenced by my Year 12 English teacher.

Tell us about your family.

I have a mum, a dad, a nonidentical twin sister and a younger sister. They’re cool people.

What animal would you like to be for a day?

I would like to be an Aristocat from the movie The Aristocats (before they became poor), where a rich old woman feeds me caviar, and I’m just a cat.

What is your favourite animal and why?

Probably dogs. That’s a dull answer.

What is your favourite movie?

I love horror movies, but my favourite movie is Clue, which is based on the board game Cluedo.

What is your favourite music?

I like, alt-punk rock, kind of Midwest emo nonsense. I also listen to a lot of Disney songs, like Fallout Boy and Moana

What is your ideal way to unwind and relax?

I read a lot—like, a crazy amount.

What is your role at the school?

I am a Create Visual and Performance Teacher, and I’m also the Assistant Director of our 2025 College Production...Puffs! (or Seven Increasing Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic).

What was your favourite subject at school?

Art and Drama!

What would you sing at karaoke night?

Defying Gravity with Ms Price (obviously) or, if I’m by myself: Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls or Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve been working on this year?

The preliminary conversations about the upcoming college production of...Puffs! (or Seven Increasing Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic).

When you were little what did you aspire to be?

When I was little, I wanted to be an actor. Then, when I was older, I wanted to be an artist. Eventually, I decided to do both at school—teaching! The best of both worlds.

Who would you like to swap places with for the day?

An Aristocat, when they’re not poor and are being fed caviar, of course.

Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?

Obviously. Lara, in Prirvine, my joint musical with Ms Price. Or myself, because why would someone else to play me when I’m better than any celebrity?!

Thanks, Ms Irvine!
