This Fortnight In Literacy

By Zavier 6SC

Students of BPPS have started literacy for the year. To begin, students have been practicing the art of persuasive writing. They have learnt that persuasive writing is a type of writing that aims to convince. Students have learnt the structure, and had a go at doing it themselves.

Students have also begun smart spelling. Smart spelling is a spelling program where students focus on a spelling rule for a week, for example, words starting with 're'. Students learn these words by completing activities to deepen their understanding.

So far, students have started strongly, and as they learn and grow, they will be sure to improve. Keep it up BPPS!

This Fortnight In Numeracy

Over the last two weeks in numeracy the Grade Sixes have been exploring prime and composite numbers, data representation, including different types of graphs and a special envelope challenge.

Students have had lots of fun participating in these challenges and cannot wait for more.

This Fortnight in Leadership

By Eleanor & Poppy 6SB

Over the last two weeks the Grade Sixes have explored what it means to be a role model as leaders of the school.

We also learned about what each pillar is and it's role in the school: The Wellbeing Pillar, Arts Pillar, Library and Languages Pillar, Admin Pillar, Health Pillar and the Environment Pillar. We looked at what the pillars did and what we wanted to learn from being in a pillar, and then chose a pillar we wanted to represent the school in.

Favourite colour - yellow, because it reminds her of happiness and good times.

Favourite food - cheese
