Principal Report

Smooth and strong start to 2025

We have had an exciting and outstanding start to 2025. I extend a warm welcome to our new students and their families and I have been thoroughly impressed with the settled start to the year. We have been working extremely hard as a college to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment and it is clear that our work is paying off. As a college, we have focused heavily on our value of Connection and this has been supported by our Learning Community Teams, Sub-School structure and all staff/students. The term has been busy - in Week 2, we held a whole school assembly where we introduced our Student Leaders for 2025 and in Week 3 we had a highly successful House Swimming Sports Day. Last week, we ran a parent information evening at the college covering topics such as SWPB, classroom routines, behaviour matrix and School TV. A very productive start to the year and I congratulate all students on their approach to the start of a new year.

Open Night

We are excited to showcase the positive steps the college has been taking and have increased our social media presence as a way to connect further with our families. I highly encourage you to connect to our Instagram or Facebook page as another way to keep up-to-date with everything that is happening in the college. For our prospective parents and families, our Open Night for 2025 will be on Tuesday 1st April at 5:30pm. We look forward to seeing you there!

School Policy Feedback

As you may be aware, school policies are required to be reviewed at set times based on their review cycle. As a college, we have three policies that require updates.

Please find attached a draft version of the following School Policies:

  • Bullying Prevention
  • Statement of Values and School Philosophy
  • Student Wellbeing and Engagement

If you have any feedback or suggestions that you would like to provide the college on these policies, please email koo.wee.rup.sc@education.vic.gov.au by Friday 14th March.

Following endorsement at the next School Council meeting, these will be published on our school website.
