Assistant Principals' Report
Rae Gittos & Matt Kirkright
We have been conducting tours for our upcoming 2026 Foundation students. Many families have come through the school, which has been positive overall. Following the Department of Education timeline, we cannot accept any enrolments until the first day of Term 2 - Tuesday, 22nd April, which is the day after Easter Monday. If you already have children at Whittlesea Primary School, and have a child who will commence school in 2026, then under the 'sibling' clause, they are eligible to enrol, regardless of whether or not you reside in the school zone. If you have any questions about the Foundation enrolment process, please call the office and ask to speak with a member of the Principal Class team. Please also refer to our school website for further enrolment details @ https://www.whittleseaps.vic.edu.au/page/27/2026-Foundation-Enrolment
As we head into Terms 2 and 3, with some colder weather, reminding everyone about the importance of wearing school uniforms following the WPS Dress Code (School Uniform Policy) is timely. Please note: We understand that sometimes uniform items are unavailable (in the wash or being repaired/repurchased, etc.); however, we do not want to see the regular wearing of items such as footy shorts, black leggings, and bike pants.
All uniform items can be purchased at Academy Uniforms @ https://academyuniforms.com.au/
An extract from our policy is below for your reference:
The colours of the school uniform will be navy blue and gold, except for a navy and white summer dress.
Daily footwear will consist of only traditional black school shoes (Lace-up or Velcro only, no slip-ons) or predominantly black runners.
Socks must be plain navy, white or black – no logos
Hair accessories must be blue, gold, white or black only. Clear nail polish is acceptable. Students are also encouraged to wear a wristwatch. Smartwatches that can make calls, text, or take photos or videos are not allowed to be at school and should be treated as a 'mobile phone.'
Enjoy your weekends.
