Oedipus the King

On the 19 February the entire Year 12 cohort was treated to a live theatre performance of 'Oedipus the King' by Complete Works.

For some, it was the first time experiencing this kind of performance live. The story of Oedipus Rex by Sophocles, still remains relevant for our students today because it explores timeless themes such as fate versus free will and the complexities of human nature.

In the modern world, we can reflect on Oedipus' struggle with identity and the consequences of our actions, even when we may not fully understand the forces driving them.

The entire Year 12 cohort were thoroughly engaged and the sharp student questions that followed the performance demonstrated that the classwork is really being absorbed by the students.  The performers said it was an absolute pleasure to perform at Academy.

Encore!
