After Melbourne weather lending itself to a reschedule, we were excited to see the House Swimming Carnival for 2025 finally go ahead on Wednesday, 26 February at Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre.
The girls were in great spirits from the off, with plenty of house colours and some fun and creative dress up costumes from our Year 12 students. The older students started the day off with a bang, with the traditional Year 12 dance and then we were straight into the pool for a full race schedule.
The sunny weather meant participation was high, and lots of students were hopping in the pool to earn points for their house. There were some great performances and some exceptional efforts put in by the students.
Our lunch break was host to the ‘Year 12 Novelty Race’, in which the girls battled out on their floaties to become the ultimate champion. The day concluded with some exciting relay races and then presentations of awards.
With a close race for the top spot throughout the day, the final standings were as follows:
First - Sherlock
Second - Frayne
Third - McAuley
Fourth - Goold
Congratulations to Ms Synnot and House Captain, Phoebe Gowans for taking home the 2025 win! We would also like to congratulate the following students who were recognised with individual awards as the best performers within their age group:
Juniors – Willow Ham
Intermediates – Ivy Banks
Seniors – Lucy Delbridge
Overall Champion – Charlotte Smith
A final congratulations to Phoebe Gownas and Amelia Grbac, who were announced as Swimming Captain and Vice Swimming Captain for 2025 respectively.
After a cancelled tournament in 2024, the Juniors, Intermediate and Senior teams were pleased to make it out on to court on 6 March for this years CGSAV Division 2 Tennis tournament at Glen Waverly Sports Hub.
Although a warm day out on the courts, the girls put in some excellent performances in both doubles and singles categories.
The Senior doubles team had a good morning and made it to the semi-finals, but sadly lost out to Mater Christi College (14-11).
The Intermediate team played hard, but unfortunately were knocked out before the semi-finals.
A big congratulations to our Junior team who made it to the final and defeated Catholic Ladies College 14-14. A special mention to Jana T who won the ‘All Round Junior’ title.
An amazing effort by all of the girls, well done!
