Hourig, Dilan and Naomi
Year 1/2 students have immersed themselves in their learning, as they explore the depths of the reef and create fantastic new friendships with their new classmates.
Students have been expanding their understanding of Measurement and Data. They have used informal units to measure different objects in The Reef, such as tables, shelves, and even the TV, using items like ice pole sticks, match sticks, and Unifix Cubes. Students have also collected data and represented their collected data in a variety of ways.
During our Literacy lessons, students have been exposed to various ways to comprehend their reading, letter-sound relationships, and working towards writing an engaging and descriptive narrative.
The Orcas, Bull Sharks and Jellyfish have been exploring themself - as they unpack their beliefs and values. This includes personal, physical, mental, social and spiritual health. They are discovering the different relationships in their lives including families, friends, communities and cultures, as well as their rights and responsibilities as we inquire into what it means to be human.
