The students in Grade F-2 have enjoyed making Pizza collages, the lessons have been a hive of activity, learning new Italian words each session. They have also played games where they were exposed to the Italian words for different emotions they feel eg. cold = freddo)
Last weekend, Mrs Gee's family made pasta sauce from scratch. This is a yearly tradition where her whole family gets together to make home made Passata.
During Sport, we've temporarily paused our bowls program to learn all about tennis. David Starling, a local professional tennis coach, has been taking the students for this program.
The junior classes have played fun hand-eye games to get a feel for a tennis racquet and ball, and we've even had a go at rallying with a partner over the net!
The middle and senior classes have focused on fun rallying games with partners, and the banter across all the courts has been contagious!
Once again we've achieved 100% participation and great demonstrations of sportsmanship. A big thank you to Dave for making these sessions so fun!
Have you checked out egg-cellent displays of art lately? We have chickens, peacocks and exotic birds on display and aren’t they are real ‘tweet!’ These were created by learning lots of paper sculpture skills, patience, some problem solving skills and an abundance of creativity. What amazing young artists we have here at St Pats.
Kindly wanted for the Art room:
Some of our students require some small recycled items to begin making some epic artworks next week, if you have any of these items listed in the photos please can you send them with your child before next Wednesday, it would be much appreciated. Students can put these on the bench in the art room in the mornings. Thank you!
The year has begun with a blast of music for all the students! In Performing Arts, we've been learning about instruments and how they make sound, and sorting them into instrument families. Students have seen a variety of percussion instruments, the trombone and trumpet from the brass family, and guitars and ukulele from the string family! We've played a range of classroom instruments, developing rhythm skills using things like tambourines, rhythm sticks, maracas, bells and hand drums/djembes. Students have also developed rhythm and drama skills through playing a variety of Performing Arts games - Rhythm King, Naughty Kitty, Pongo the Pirate and many more! It's been fantastic to get to know the school, I'm very impressed with the singing, dancing, and playing I've seen so far.
