From the Principal Leader

Dear Staff, Students, Parents and Carers,
As we continue on our Lenten journey, we are mindful that this is a time of reflection and repentance during the 40 days of Lent. As we journey through the season of Lent, it's a time for reflection, renewal, and deepening our faith. At Caroline Chisholm Glenmore Park, we encourage our community to embrace this sacred period by focusing on prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. It’s an opportunity to grow closer to God and show compassion to those in need. Let this time of penance and grace inspire us to live with greater love, humility, and purpose as we prepare for the joy of Easter. Let us continue to be people of hope always seeking to find Christ in our everyday lives ensuring that we, as the hands and hearts of Jesus, can bring a deep meaning to this season of the Church calendar.
Last Friday, I was privileged to attend the Catholic Secondary Schools Public Speaking competition finals. We had one student, Alyssa Darroch who achieved this high level, and ultimately attained 2nd place in the Year 9 group by delivering her speech ‘The wisdom of dogs’. Alyssa composed and delivered the speech with great confidence, expression and skill and represtated our college in an outstanding manner. As a college, we are delighted with Alyssa’s achievement and hopefully she will be able to share this speech and her experience with us at our next college assembly.
Congratulations to Ava Barbara for her incredible effort in the Youth of the Year Area Final through the Lions Club! We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate her outstanding achievement of winning the Public Speaking Award!
Her ability to inspire and captivate an audience on her chosen discussing the 'Loneliness Epidemic' is truly remarkable, and this recognition is well-deserved.
Our prayers for Sienna Barbara - Year 12 Student
One of our Year 12 students, Sienna Barbara (12 Jackson), is currently bravely facing a battle against brain cancer, and we are coming together as a school community to support her and her family during this most challenging time.
Sienna had brain surgery to remove a tumour in January and has since been given the opportunity to receive a life-extending medication, however, this drug is not covered by government funding, and the cost is significant.
The College Executive and our Year 12 students, are reaching out to our entire CCC community to help support Sienna on her journey. As a college community, we will be coordinating a series of fundraising events in the coming weeks, and encourage everyone to participate in whatever way you can, big or small. Your decision to get involved and support these events will have a positive and direct impact on Sienna and her family.
Here at Caroline Chisholm, we believe we are 'Better Together' and are a deeply united community in faith and action. This is a time for our collective strength to have great impact. We thank you for your consideration of support of the following fundraising planned in the coming weeks:
Mega Easter Egg Raffle (ticket sales commencing next week - to be drawn in Week 11)
Lavender coloured ribbons for sale - Sienna has requested this colour to symbolise support for all types of cancer and cancer awareness.
Whole school mufti day. Students are encouraged to wear lavender/purple in support of Sienna - Friday 4/4 (WK 10)
Sausage sizzle lunch - Friday 4/4 (WK 10)
All initiatives will operate via the QKR app. Ribbons will be available for $2 at Reception and at break times in the Library. More information regarding each initiative will be made available in the coming weeks. Let's join together in supporting Sienna at this most difficult time where our strong support can hopefully empower her health to continue to strengthen each day.
Healing Prayer
Heavenly Father, we bring before You our friend who is in need of Your divine healing. Enfold them in Your loving arms, alleviating their pain and restoring their strength. May Your grace touch every part of their being, bringing about a full and speedy recovery. We trust in Your power and promise, knowing that all things are made whole in Your hands. In Jesus' name. Amen.
May God Bless you and keep you safe in the palm of his hand
