Principal's Message

Dear God,

We thank You for the gift of diversity in our community. Help us to embrace one another with love, respect, and understanding. Guide us to celebrate our differences and find strength in our unity. May Harmony Day remind us of the importance of kindness, inclusion, and belonging, today and always.

Amen.

Harmony Day: Embracing Diversity and Unity

Dear Parents and Carers,

Tomorrow, St. Andrews will celebrate Harmony Day, a special occasion dedicated to recognizing and embracing the rich cultural diversity within our school community. Harmony Day serves as a reminder of the importance of inclusiveness, respect, and understanding among all people. In honor of this day, we encourage all students to wear cultural dress, celebrating the vibrant traditions and backgrounds that make up our community.

In the morning, we will continue with our regular literacy and numeracy blocks, ensuring that students stay on track with their academic learning. However, at 12:30 PM, we will shift our focus to Harmony Day activities, which will take us through the rest of the afternoon. These activities are designed to promote a deep sense of belonging, as well as foster respect for one another's differences, bringing our school together in celebration of our shared values.

As part of the afternoon’s activities, classes will pair up with a buddy class from another year level. This collaborative approach offers students the chance to engage with peers from different age groups, creating opportunities to form new connections and build understanding across year levels. It’s a wonderful way for our students to interact, share their ideas, and celebrate the diversity that makes our school so unique.

We are excited for a day filled with fun, learning, and meaningful interactions. Harmony Day at St. Andrews is a chance for everyone to come together to appreciate our diverse backgrounds, celebrate what makes us different, and deepen our sense of unity as a community.

We look forward to a memorable and inspiring day!
