Today we looked after the worms in our worm bins. They like having a nice cover over them, to help them feel safe and will come up to the top and eat all our food scraps. We collected shredded paper from the school office and the students soaked it in water, before making a thick layer on top of the worms. We were worried that maybe the worms had died as we couldn’t see any. Students suggested we dig down to see if we could find some. We did and … we found hundreds of happy, healthy worms! Hooray!
Well done to our Compost Ninja team who collect our food scraps every day and feed them to the worms. By doing this, we save so much waste from going to landfill, helping to reduce methane gas, and therefore global warming. It is so good to know we are doing such a good job of saving our food scraps and turning them into great compost for our gardens!
Have a great week everyone! Thanks for your great efforts in helping us live in a way that is kinder to our environment!
