District Swimming Carnival - Making a Splash!

Our students recently dived into the excitement at the annual District Swimming Carnival, showcasing their skills, determination, and team spirit. Held at Werribee Outdoor Pools, the event brought together schools from across the district for a day full of thrilling races and personal bests.

Our swimmers demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and effort across a range of events, including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and relay races. Special congratulations to our medal winners who brought home ribbons and personal achievements, highlighting the hard work they’ve put into training.

A huge thank you to the staff, parents, and volunteers who supported our swimmers throughout the day. Your encouragement and assistance made the event a success.

We are incredibly proud of all our participants for their enthusiasm and positive attitude.

As we celebrate these achievements, we look forward to future competitions and continued success in the pool. Go team! Special mention to Mr Muscles himself Elliot from 5H who not only won a medal but also supported his teammates spending the day encouraging and uplifting others when he was not swimming.

Western United Soccer Club Incursion

On Monday, 3rd March, our school was excited to host an incursion with the Western United Soccer Club, giving students the chance to meet professional players and learn about the sport.

The day was filled with fun activities, including an introduction to the club, a video about their journey, and a chance to hear from the players themselves. The players shared stories about how they became professionals, how they handle pressure, and the mental and physical preparation required for big games. This was especially inspiring for the Year 3 students, who are preparing for NAPLAN exams.

A highlight of the day was the Crossbar Challenge, where lucky students teamed up with players to try and hit the crossbar. The players also chose the winners of the Best Strip Design competition. Students were then able to ask their own questions, and the players shared valuable advice on resilience, teamwork, and staying motivated. To finish the event, students surprised the players by singing the Western United team song.

As a treat, all students were given the chance to attend for free the Western United game on Saturday, 8th March against Wellington Phoenix. Mr. Bright, our teacher and coach at Western United, and Teeksha from 3E attended the match, enjoying the experience alongside their fellow students.

This incursion was a great way to inspire our students, showing them the importance of dedication, teamwork, and hard work in both sports and life.
