PSA Swimming Carnival 2025

Congratulations to our PSA Swim Team on an outstanding 4th place finish at the 2025 PSA Swimming Inters! Improving on last year’s result, we finished ahead of Wesley, Aquinas, and Guildford, with some amazing individual and year group performances. A huge shoutout to our Year 7, 8, and 9 swimmers, who put on dominant displays, with Year 7 finishing 2nd overall in their age group.

A special moment of the night was seeing Calvin Trinh and Ben McDonough take to the pool, supported by Year 11 students Ryan Tindall and Max Rees with their swim receiving the loudest cheers of the night.

A massive thank you to Swimming Manager Adelaide Garland for her outstanding dedication over the past six months, overseeing countless training sessions, meets, and logistics. We also want to recognise Leah Rogers for her incredible work organising our swimmers on the night and to all the PE staff, CLT, and parents who supported the team behind the scenes.

Strength and Conditioning Centre

The Trinity Strength and Conditioning centre is open to all students from Year 7-12 throughout the year. Trained instructors from PerformHQ cater for students from a beginner level, all the way through to the more experienced trainer. Fitness programs are developed to ensure that students are focusing on safety and technique so that injuries do not occur.

The centre is open to students during the following days/times:

  • Monday to Friday morning – 6.45am – 8.00am

  • Monday to Thursday afternoon – 3.15pm – 4.30pm

No sign-up is needed. Students simply attend a session and introduce themselves to the instructors. All students must bring a towel to gain entry.

Fair Game Sports

We are happy to announce that we're working with the incredible charity Fair Game Sports. Fair Game Sports is an Australian charity dedicated to promoting health, social inclusion, and sustainability through sport. It collects and redistributes recycled sports equipment to children in remote and disadvantaged communities, ensuring they have access to the resources needed for an active lifestyle. Alongside this, Fair Game runs health and fitness programs that educate and inspire young people to stay active.

Trinity is choosing to support Fair Game Sports because it aligns with our values of community service, social inclusion, and sustainability. By supporting Fair Game, we're helping provide disadvantaged children with access to sports equipment and health programs, promoting equal opportunities for an active and healthy lifestyle.

Used sports equipment can be donated through the blue bins next to the head of year office or the junior school.

The items we are looking at having in the bins are:

  • AFL footballs, soccer balls, basketballs

  • Footy boots

  • Soccer shin pads

  • Runners/sneakers

  • Large sports bags in good condition (e.g. Cricket bags)

  • Smaller backpacks, in good condition only

  • Unused drink bottles

Please do not place the following items in the bin:

  • General rubbish

  • Sports clothing and uniforms (except team sets of bibs)

  • Helmets (baseball, cricket or bike – due to safety reasons)

  • Golf clubs (try Golf WA)

  • Trophies or medals

  • Hats

  • Used drink bottles

  • Any item that is broken, worn out or not suitable for current use e.g. old style tennis rackets.

If you have other items that are not on the list, please get in contact with Corey Miskiewicz miskiewicz.corey@trinity.wa.edu.au to see if the donation can be accepted. I encourage everyone to think of the greater good and support the charity, for the betterment of all sports lovers.

Concussion Policy

Trinity has a Concussion Policy throughout both the summer and winter PSA seasons. There is growing and persuasive body of evidence indicating a lower rate of recovery in children and adolescents who may experience a concussion. Acting in the ‘best interest of students’, the College adopts a conservative approach to the management of a student’s concussion and their restoration to health, where their return to learn will take priority over their return to competitive sport.

This Concussion Policy is a comprehensive plan that will be followed by all staff, coaches, parents, and students in the case of concussion occurring to a student during sport training or games. Whilst the policy information and the full process that has to be followed will be sent to parents of students who suffer concussion, there are key points that parents and students have to be aware of if possible, concussion occurs:

  1. Students who suffer a head or concussion injury during College sport will be offered First Aid at the time of injury.

  2. Students with suspected concussion will not return to play on the day of injury. A clear motto of “if in doubt, sit them out” will be followed by all staff and coaches.

  3. All possible concussion/head injuries will be reported by staff to the Director of Sport for follow up with the parents.

    1. If the staff are unaware of a possible head injury to the student, parents are encouraged to report possible concussion to the Director of Sport.

    2. Junior School Concussions will be reported to the JS Physical Education Teacher.

  4. The Director of Sport will contact the parents by the Monday after the game outlining the Concussion policy process that will need to be followed before students are able to be cleared to Return to Sport and Return to Learn.

A clear Return to Sport and Return to Learn process will be followed if a student is diagnosed with Concussion. This process will be sent to parents of the students affected.

If a possible concussion has been reported, or concussion has been diagnosed, then for the College to fulfil its duty of care obligations, students who do not provide a medical clearance letter to the Director of Sport will not be selected in a sporting team. As per the guidelines produced by the Australian Sports Commission, both the PSA and Trinity College follow a 21 day return to sport plan.

Enquiries regarding the Concussion Policy can be directed to the Director of Sport, Mr Ryan Lockyer.
