The Power of “Little and Often” in Learning

When it comes to learning, consistency beats cramming every time. A “little and often” approach—where students engage with material in small, frequent sessions—helps build stronger understanding and keeps their brains more engaged.

Think about reading: A child who reads for just 10 minutes a day will absorb hundreds of new words each week and develop a lifelong love for books. Compare that to forcing them to read an entire chapter in one sitting—they may retain less and feel overwhelmed.

Homework in short, focused bursts rather than all at once prevents frustration and improves concentration.

Parents can help by using timers, or creating fun, bite-sized learning challenges. A little every day adds up to big progress over time—because the best learning happens when it feels manageable and enjoyable!

Inquiry Showcase

We would love to invite parents and carers to our F/1/2 Inquiry Showcase on Thursday 27th March from 2:45-3:15 pm. This will be in the F/1/2 Classrooms.

During this showcase, you will be invited to come and look at what we have been learning about in Inquiry. You will get a chance to walk around and look at what your child and other students have created.

This Term we have been learning about 'Community' and we will be creating our own community dioramas. If students have anything they would like to bring from home such as cardboard and boxes to create their dioramas that would be great! Doesn't need to be huge. We will start making these next week, so if they could start to collect them now and bring them in next week.
