Little Learners Parent information Website

Little Learners Love Literacy is a structured, explicit phonics program designed to teach children to read, write, and spell with confidence. The program follows a carefully sequenced approach, introducing sounds (phonemes) and letters (graphemes) in stages to build foundational literacy skills. Teaching sessions focus on phonemic awareness, letter-sound relationships, blending, segmenting, and decoding strategies.

To reinforce learning, take-home readers are decodable books that align with the phonics sequence, ensuring children practice only the sounds and words they have been explicitly taught. These books help develop fluency and confidence by allowing students to apply their knowledge in a supportive and structured way, fostering a love for reading from the start.

Miss Anderson did an incredible job explaining how take-home readers work, and the videos above demonstrate how to complete a take-home read. To further support student learning, we will continue to provide more opportunities for teachers to engage in the process and enhance their involvement in literacy development.
