On the 4th of March, the SRCs and student leaders from all over Victoria came together for an important conference led by the GRIP program. There, we learned about the key qualities of a leader and received many valuable tips for the year ahead. The event was held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, near the city. Inside, the conference area was huge—fitting around 6,000 student leaders.
At the conference, we participated in many fun activities and filled out a small booklet provided by the GRIP Leadership Program, all while enjoying ourselves and socializing with students from both nearby and distant schools. Between sessions, we had the chance to get up and play fun games called “Loud Noises.” These were various intriguing games, each with a deeper meaning, teaching us even more about leadership.

On the 4th of March, I, along with the rest of the Student Representative Council (SRC), went on an excursion to Docklands. We were taught many valuable leadership skills by the GRIP program in a way that made learning easy and fun. We participated in engaging activities and took away important lessons from the session that I believe will help me become a better leader.
In addition, we traveled to the conference by train, which gave us practice in case we ever need to use the metro independently in the future.

On the 4th of March, the SRC attended the GRIP program. I learned that simply giving instructions is not always effective; instead, it is better to guide others through one-on-one conversations. By doing this, goals are more likely to be achieved successfully.

During the program, we participated in enjoyable activities while learning how to be good leaders. Some of the activities involved role-playing, teamwork, and understanding the importance of following through on ideas by the end of the year.
I also discovered many reliable resources that will help me in my leadership role this year. I really enjoyed the GRIP program and found it to be an incredible experience. The SRC gained valuable skills, and overall, we had a fantastic time.

On the 4th of March, we attended our first leadership conference in the city! We had no idea what to expect, but we all learned important skills for becoming professional leaders. Some aspects were easy, while others were more challenging, but we persevered and had an enjoyable time. We also had the opportunity to talk to students from other schools, hear their ideas, and share our own brainstorming discussions.

We discussed multiple topics and participated in fun activities that encouraged communication with students from other schools.
We gained valuable insights that will help us achieve our goals for the school this year and ensure we follow through on them before the year ends. This knowledge will support both the SRC and me in being the best representatives we can be while serving as positive role models for our school. Overall, the GRIP conference was an amazing experience—I learned valuable lessons and had a great time.

On Tuesday, the 4th of March, the SRC team and I went on an excursion to the Melbourne Convention Centre, where we attended the GRIP Leadership Conference. This conference helped us develop leadership skills and introduced us to key phrases such as, “Being a leader is not about privileges; it’s about people.”
We also learned about helping people outside our school community at E.P.S. During the conference, we were reminded that setting a good example will inspire younger students to do the same.
The event included fun segments and games, which gave me great ideas for our school programs. While having fun, we were also learning valuable leadership skills! I had an incredible experience at this conference, and I hope future SRC members will too!
