Term 1, Week 4
Wow, what an exciting couple of weeks we've had as the Preps have continued to settle into life at EPS! So far, students have learned the sounds 'm' and 's' during our phonics lessons and have also continued to develop their understanding of syllables and rhyming words - which are important foundational literacy skills. In Maths we have learned all about ordering events. We even got to make fairy bread to show our understanding of the words 'first', 'next' and 'last'. We have also been learning the days of the week - we hope you are all excited to hear our special 'Days of the Week Song' when we perform it at Foundation assembly! During Inquiry, we enjoyed sharing items from our cultures and asking others lots of thoughtful questions about their cultures.
Some other highlights of life in Foundation were when we were welcomed into our houses at our very first whole-school assembly and our 'practice' visit to Windy Hill. We are also so excited for out Inquiry 'Around the World Lunch' that is coming up really soon!
