Year 12 Careers Interviews
Year 12 career interviews are currently taking place in our Careers Office, providing students with valuable guidance as they plan for life after high school. These interviews help students explore various career pathways by discussing their interests, strengths and goals with our Careers Practitioner. Students receive advice on options such as university courses, apprenticeships, vocational training or entering the workforce. The interviews also support decision-making, helping students choose the right subjects and consider their next steps in education or employment. Additionally, they are offered assistance with university applications, job searches and setting realistic goals to ensure students are prepared for their future endeavours.

We have a fantastic resource available for students. The PSC Careers Website provides you with all of the latest information that will help you make decisions about your future career and your life beyond school.
You can visit this site to find out about university or TAFE courses and any other type of course available across Australia. The site also has information about VCE, you can search for job vacancies and much more.
In addition to this, please do feel free to drop into the Careers Office if you have any questions.

Year 10 Work Experience
Year 10 work experience is a fantastic opportunity for students to step into the workforce, explore career options and develop essential skills for the future. This hands-on experience helps students understand different industries, build confidence in professional settings and make informed decisions about their senior school pathways.
Through work experience, students gain valuable workplace skills such as communication, teamwork and time management - skills that will benefit them in any career. It also provides a great addition to their resume and can open doors to future job opportunities, apprenticeships or traineeships.
We encourage all Year 10 students to make the most of this experience, ask questions and embrace the chance to learn in a real-world environment. It’s a stepping stone toward their future success!
Year 10 Work Experience will take place from the 30th June until the 4th July.

Year 9 Morrisby Testing
During the month of March, Year 9 students will be completing an online quiz called the Morrisby Assessment. The Department of Education wants every Year 9 student in the state to complete this assessment, to help them with their senior school subject selection and future careers’ options.
Career education is one of the key building blocks for lifelong success therefore, we want students to be confident and capable, so that they can successfully manage their future career.
The assessment will require students to complete 10 sets of questions, to help discover their unique strengths, preferences, and interests. Their responses are analysed to produce tailored suggestions for career areas, subject choices and educational pathways.
It is important for students to trial some questions, so that they have an idea of how this quiz works. Practice questions are available at: https://www.morrisby.com/practice-questions.
We would encourage students to trial these before they complete this as a class.
An email address is needed in order to be able to register their account.
The assessments will be conducted under test conditions but assistance is provided if they do not understand the instructions. At the start of the assessment, students will register themselves on Morrisby using a code provided by the school. The assessment is taken in one sitting and takes approximately 110 -120 minutes.
At least two weeks after the profile is completed, students will be scheduled to attend a discussion of their results with an external Careers Consultant. After a discussion with a Careers Consultant, they will be asked to complete a short satisfaction survey. The counsellor spends 15 minutes after each interview summarising the discussion and these notes are made available to both the student and the school through the Morrisby Management system.
