Celebrating the Creative Talent of Our Stage Four Students

As the school year progresses, our Year 7 students continue to impress with their remarkable creativity and skill. Teachers are incredibly proud of their achievements, and the talent on display is nothing short of inspiring.

In the Visual Arts, our Stage 4 students have been exploring the theme of identity through their portrait projects. This journey of self-expression has led to some outstanding works of art. One standout piece is a self-portrait created by David P. His work beautifully captures not only his likeness but also the essence of his character, making it a true reflection of his identity.

Another exceptional project comes from Charlotte W, who has taken her creativity into the digital realm. Charlotte has crafted a storyboard about the Gion Matsuri, a famous festival in Kyoto, Japan. Through her digital drawings, she has brought this vibrant cultural event to life, showcasing her skills in both storytelling and digital art. Her work is a testament to her ability to blend tradition with modern techniques seamlessly.

Adding to the excitement, many of our students often get together on their devices to enjoy digital drawing in the library during their free time. These sessions have become a wonderful way for them to collaborate, share ideas, and enhance their skills.

Keep up the great work!

How to Be a Hero

It was the first day at Hero High for the new students, and they were pretty nervous, particularly since the older students were so confident in their powers. But when a team of villains took over the school, the new students realised everyone had something important to offer.

Aspire came on tour last week to the Upper Hunter, where we hosted 98 students from all Upper Hunter Schools in our diocese to create an epic show. Students worked with Aspire specialists to rehearse and produce the original script ‘How to Be a Hero’ written with input from talented writers from St James' PS Muswellbrook, St Joseph’s PS Merriwa and St Mary’s PS Scone.

Students signed up for ensembles in Drama, Instrumental, Visual Art or Vocal as they worked together on their separate elements of the production before putting it all together at the dress rehearsal on the Wednesday.

Across two performances students wowed the large audiences with their talents and hard work. To put on a show in just a few days is a pretty amazing accomplishment and the students should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved. Aspire hopes that this project will be an annual opportunity for interested students in the region.

Congratulations to all!
