House News

Dear Students, Families, and Guardians,

As we have hit the halfway mark of term 1, we want to express how proud we are of our students for starting off the year strong! It’s been wonderful to see such positive energy in the classrooms, with students engaged and taking advantage of the many opportunities available to them. Hampton Park Secondary College has been a hive of activity in term 1.

A big congratulations to everyone who participated in the recent Swimming Carnival! It was fantastic to see such positive attendance and involvement. We're excited to share that our House placed second in the event— Go Walton!

Looking ahead, NAPLAN starts this week for our students in Year 7 and Year 9, and we wish all our students the best of luck. NAPLAN is a tool used to help schools, students, and families in understanding achievements and areas for opportunities for students against all students in Australia. If your young person is feeling apprehensive, remind them that they are more than any assessment and trying their best is all we expect of them. Our Year 7 students are also headed out to the Grand Prix on Thursday 13th March, which will be a great day out. For those who are not attending, they are required at school.

We’re happy to announce that our new Sports Mentors have been selected and have already attended their first mentoring session at Hampton Park Primary School. This program continues to foster leadership and community within our school.

Finally, we’re looking forward to seeing our parents and guardians at the upcoming Student-Led Conferences. It will be a great opportunity to celebrate student progress and meet with your child’s classroom teachers. Attendance is compulsory for all students for one of the two-day conferences.
