Dear Mabo Students and families,
We’re already halfway through Term 1, and what a fantastic start to the school year it has been! It’s been wonderful to see students settling into their routines, engaging in learning, and participating in the many activities on offer. Here’s a snapshot of what’s been happening and what’s coming up.
Highlights from the Term So Far

International Women’s Day
We recognise International Women’s Day, a day to celebrate the achievements of women, reflect on progress made, and acknowledge the ongoing work needed to create a truly equitable world.
The theme for this year, “Accelerate Action" reminds us of the need for urgent and sustained efforts to close the gender gap, advance women's rights, and create a more inclusive society. At Hampton Park Secondary College, we are committed to fostering a culture of respect, learning, and working together—values that align with the spirit of this goal.
It is an opportunity for each of us to recognise the contributions of the women in our school community—our students, staff, families, and leaders—who inspire, lead, and create change every day. Currently at our college, we are fortunate to work with many highly dedicated and inspirational leaders. In fact, 18 of the 25 members of our college leadership are women!
Wellbeing Focus
Student wellbeing is always a priority. This term, we’re focusing on resilience and positive relationships. Teachers and wellbeing staff are providing activities to support students’ social and emotional development. If your child needs any additional support, please reach out.
