Theatre ASH Performance - "12 Incompetent Jurors"

Thursday 10 October, 6:30pm - Draney Theatre

This coming Thursday, Theatre Ash presents “12 Incompetent Jurors”. A man stands accused of stealing cats. Many cats. There is video evidence. There are witness statements. The man even admitted it. So why are the jurors taking so long to agree on a verdict? He’s guilty! Or is he? Written in imitation of the famous play, Twelve Angry Men, the play offers a lot of laughs, a lot of confusion and a lot of irritating people!

Soiree and Grandparents Day

The Marist College Ashgrove Music Department is grateful to have come together as a community for our annual Soiree on the last Thursday of Term 3. This concert is the culmination of the 2024 Concert Season which also farewells our graduating seniors. It sees the Champagnat Centre transformed into a vibrant event space hosting over 1000 guests who were entertained by all of the College’s large and small ensembles performing across three stages. The evening was a great success with all ensembles performing to a very high standard. Thank you to all members of the College community who were able to attend in celebration and also to the Music Staff, P&F, College Tech Crew and Services Teams for their contributions. Congratulations boys and thank you for your commitment.

Australian Honours Ensemble Program (AHEP):

SHEP is an educational program for music students that helps extend and encourage their pursuit of musical excellence, bringing together young people from all over Queensland to share their passion for making music. Open Conservatorium’s State Honours Ensemble Program has grown from relatively modest beginnings in 2001 to hosting over 5000 students each year, receiving many more nominations than are able to be accommodated. Celebrating its seventh year, AHEP has grown to encompass students from New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria and the Northern Territory. QCGU provides four programs in Brisbane and 11 regional programs. The recent Brisbane programs culminated in concerts on Saturday, 28 September where our Marist College Ashgrove boys performed and represented the College admirably. One particular highlight was Oliver Betts being selected as the Principal Cellist in the Symphony Orchestra. There were 12 cellists in the orchestra, it was a great achievement to be selected for this lead role.
