Work Experience Closing Soon!
The VET and Careers Department is now accepting applications from Years 10-12 students interested in doing work experience in Term 4 and the Christmas holidays. Please submit your expression of interest form by October 11, 2024. Forms available from VET and Careers Office.
Aviation Australia’s 2025 Applications Open
Enrolments are now underway for Aviation Australia's 2025 VET in Schools (VETiS) programs. These programs provide high school students with a unique opportunity to gain valuable aviation skills and kickstart their careers in the aviation industry. Applications for the VETiS Programs are now open via TAFE Pathways portal. Discover the training possibilities today.
Becoming a Remote Pilot
The 10935NAT - Cert II in Autonomous Technologies / AVI30419 - Cert III in Aviation (Remote Pilot) courses provides students with the crucial training required to legally operate a remotely piloted aircraft.
Becoming an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
The Certificate II in Aircraft Line Maintenance (MEA20518) equips students with foundational knowledge and skills to carry out a variety of specified maintenance tasks on aircraft. Working either on the flight line or at the departure gate.

Australian Stockholm Junior Water Prize 2025
The Australian Stockholm Junior Water Prize is an annual water science competition for high school students. Students are challenged to create solutions for water challenges, with the national prize awarded at Ozwater. The winner of the Australian competition is invited to participate in the Stockholm Junior Water Prize. The competition is open to high school students who have conducted water-related projects of environmental, scientific, social or technological importance. Students may enter as individuals or groups of two. Submissions close in March 2025 and click here for tool and information kits and entry details.

UQ Young ChangeMakers Program
Year 11 students are invited to apply for this 4-day on-campus experience. Interactive workshops and keynote lectures aim to ignite passions for leadership, academic enrichment, and community development.

The Defence Work Experience Program (DWEP) is a national Youth Program that provides young Australians with an interest in a Defence career, the opportunity to gain exposure to a range of job roles available within Defence and the Australian Public Service. Defence work experience activities are designed to be hands-on and interactive so that young people can make informed career decisions.

Places are limited and students are strongly encouraged to submit complete and considered applications as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. We work alongside ADF Units to bring students a valuable experience with serving personnel and therefore unforeseen changes or operational commitments may result in a placement being changed, postponed and/or cancelled at short notice.
