Principal's Message
Term Four is the term of transition, both working towards the conclusion of this school year and looking toward the next one.
We have been so impressed with our 2024 Year 12 cohort during this time. They have celebrated their time at the school with respect, affection and kindness, and have engaged with rigour in their exam preparation. Practice question feedback has flown back and forth between teachers and students right up to the exam date, and we are confident that our students have put their very best into their studies.
We celebrate their Graduation on 20 November: look out for photos and report in the next newsletter.
Our Year 10s and 11s are also moving into their exam period and preparation for next year, with 2025 VCE Orientation classes about to commence. This is an exciting time for students as they start to focus on their new subjects.
In December we will welcome our 2025 Year 7 students for their Orientation Day. This will be our largest Year 7 cohort in some years, with over 330 students and 14 class groups. We can't wait to have them join our school!
Planning for our new Year 9 Lonsdale St campus is also proceeding well. We have run a well-attended 2025 Year 9 family information evening (families, please see Compass Newsfeed for the link to the video of this session if you missed it) and have confirmed the layout and furnishing plans with the Victorian Schools Building Authority. Our Year 8 students will also have an Orientation Day for their Year 9 program in December.
Soon you will receive information about our requested voluntary contributions for 2025. This year, families will also have the benefit of the $400 School Saving Bonus which can be applied to booklist items and school activities. We appreciate all your contributions to our school - financial and otherwise - throughout the year.
This newsletter reflects the rich range of learning and connection that has been a feature of our first half of Term 4 - enjoy! Our final newsletter for the term will be published at the end of term, where I'm sure we will have much to celebrate.
