YEAR 6 CAMP - MELBOURNE
It was a very early start on Wednesday as the journey to Melbourne via train began. After a sluggish train trip the students and staff settled into their accommodation and began enjoying the hospitality of the DOXA staff and the fantastic activities planned.
The staff reported to me that all students participated fully in all of the activities and events as organised by DOXA.
The many highlights included the MCG, Ice-Skating and dinner out at Grill’d!
This is a fantastic opportunity for the students to gain independence away from home but in an environment where their friends and school staff are in attendance.
I’d like to thank all of the students for doing so well and representing our school in a mature and positive manner. I’d also like to thank parents and families for supporting our camping program.
Finally, thankyou to staff for organising and attending this camp as well. I know everyone had a great time.
SWIMMING PROGRAM - TERM 4 FOUNDATION & YEAR 5
2ND - 13TH DECEMBER 2024 inclusive
Our swimming program commences in late Term 4. All consent forms need to be completed before any child is able to participate. It is a vital skill for our students to learn and we don’t want any student missing out. If you are unsure about any aspects of the swimming program please contact the school. Staff are also looking for parent helpers to ensure that the program proceeds safely, this can be a parent/carer or even grandparents. Any help you can provide is very much appreciated.
HATS
Hats are now required to be worn at school. It certainly doesn’t seem like the type of weather to wear hats and we know it will take time but if we can start now that would be great.
The UV most days is above 3 now and in line with Cancer Council guidelines we are required to advise students/ staff to wear hats.
In Term 4 hats will be worn everyday.
Please look up the sunsmart app on your phone for more information.
If your child requires a new hat they are available for purchase at the school office.
RUOK? DAY THURSDAY 12 SEPTEMBER 2024
RUOK? Day is a significant day in Australia dedicated to encouraging people to check in on their friends and loved ones and have meaningful conversations about mental health. It’s held annually on the second Thursday of September. The idea is to create a culture of support and reduce the stigma around asking for help.
On RUOK Day, people are encouraged to ask those around them, “Are you OK?” and to have a genuine conversation if someone is struggling. It's a great reminder that sometimes just reaching out and being there for someone can make a big difference.
Have a great weekend.
